BLS renewal in San Francisco, CA

Same AHA course, same eCard, private skills check.

CPR Syndicate is an AHA Authorized Training Site. If your American Heart Association BLS Provider card is approaching expiration, or has already lapsed, you complete the same HeartCode blended course as first-time students: a short online refresher, then a private, in-person skills check at 26 7th St, San Francisco, CA 94103. Walk out with a fresh 2-year eCard the same day.

Renewing or certifying for the first time in San Francisco?

Renewing your BLS card

If you already hold a BLS Provider eCard, choose renewal when you book. The course content, the online HeartCode refresher, and the in-person skills check at our SOMA / Mid-Market center are the same, just faster to review since the material is familiar.

Bring or email your current card so we can confirm your renewal window. Your new eCard carries a full fresh 2-year validity period.

First-time BLS certification

Never held a BLS Provider card before? You take the identical course, there is no separate track. If this is your first certification rather than a renewal, start on our San Francisco BLS certification page for the full first-time walkthrough.

Once you are certified, come back here 30 to 60 days before your card expires when it is time to renew.

What if my BLS card already expired?

The American Heart Association does not publish a formal grace period for an expired BLS Provider card. There is no late fee, no extra module, and no penalty course, you simply retake the same BLS course a first-time student would take.

Complete the online HeartCode portion, then come to our SOMA / Mid-Market center for your in-person skills check. Once you pass, your new AHA BLS Provider eCard is issued the same day, valid for another 2 years from that completion date, regardless of how long your prior card had been expired.

Process

Same-day BLS renewal walkthrough

STEP 1

Book your renewal

Select BLS renewal and your preferred time. We email your AHA HeartCode online access right away.

STEP 2

Complete the online refresher

Work through the HeartCode modules from home at your own pace, usually about an hour for a renewing student.

STEP 3

Private skills check

Visit our SOMA / Mid-Market center for a brief, private, 1-on-1 skills verification and leave with your new eCard emailed the same day.

When should I renew my BLS certification?

Book your renewal 30 to 60 days before your current AHA BLS Provider card expires. That window gives you enough time to fit the online refresher and skills check around your shifts, without pressure if a session needs to be rescheduled.

Waiting until the expiration date itself is not necessary and adds risk: a facility credentialing check that lands during a gap between cards can pull you off the schedule. California employers generally expect an active card on file at all times, so renewing early keeps your credential continuous.

Group Renewals

Renewing a whole team in San Francisco?

When a unit, floor, or department was certified together, their cards tend to expire together too. Instead of staff booking individual renewal appointments, we run a single onsite session so the whole team recertifies the same day, at your facility.
